Axel Konjack (*1969) is Head Global Marketplaces and Member of the Group Executive Board since February 2021. He joined Ringier AG as Chief Operating Officer Global Marketplaces in 2018. In his current position, he is responsible for the strategy development as well as for the portfolio and investment management of Ringier Marketplaces in Switzerland, Central-Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Along with the Swiss classifieds market leaders, Swiss Marketplace Group and JobCloud Group, this includes leading platforms for jobs, property, cars and horizontals. For Ringier AG, Axel Konjack holds mandates in numerous supervisory bodies and acts as Chairman of the Board in several portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Ringier, he was CEO of Switzerland’s Homegate Group from 2015 onwards. Between 1998 and 2015, Axel Konjack held different management positions for the German media group Axel Springer. He was involved in the planning and execution of the company’s digital group strategy and managed digital transformation and restructuring projects.
Furthermore, he led the public-private partnership hamburg.de, official city portal of Hamburg, made a major contribution as CEO to the founding and scaling of property portal Immonet and was Head of the Internet division at Axel Springer. Axel Konjack holds a degree in business administration from Goethe University Frankfurt/Main and Université Lumière Lyon II.
