Ringier made its first forays into Eastern Europe in the early 1990s. With the goal of tapping new markets, Ringier launched a variety of products in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia and Slovakia. The business in Eastern Europe has become an important pillar of Ringier’s success and was consolidated in the Ringier Axel Springer Media AG joint venture in 2010. Today the company operates a broad media portfolio of more than 160 digital and print products in the growth markets of Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Serbia.
